Hope

Dear Readers;

Ambition, desire...these are cruel things. Not only do they say to you "reach for the stars" but they mask any notion of possible failure or hurt. Once you realize the possibility for failure and disappointment, a certain feeling that only be described as a pound of rocks settling in your stomach is felt. I think this is why I try my very hardest not to be too optimistic or foolish. I naturally come by pessimism (honestly, might I add) but I've found that the best way to squelch the possibility of disappointment is to squelch hope. I do believe that hope should be one of the 7 evils of the world, it is so great. It gives us a hand to help us out of a pit of vipers but once we rely on it and accept her help, she throws us back to the serpents. She is a tricky thing, hope. She is a savior, and a murderer. I think that if you deny yourself hope, or at least stop relying upon it, than you are in far less danger of being tricked by it.

Xx,
Hope
